So 2015 is shaping up to be a pretty exciting year so far and I have a couple fun announcements!
First off – I am thrilled to be one of the 2015 Folk Alliance International Official Showcase Artists! I will be travelling to Kansas City next month with my brother in law (and trusty accompanist) Brent Schaitel. In addition to the Official Showcase I have also been invited to be a part of a handful of other awesome private showcase rooms – The Alberta Room (presented by Bow Valley Music Club out of Calgary), The BreakOut West Room (presented by Alberta Music, Music BC, SaskMusic and Manitoba Music) and the Folk Music Canada Room! I will also be backing up Lizzy Hoyt (fantastic Albertan folk artist – and a childhood friend) on vocals for her Official Showcase. It’s going to be a busy but amazing week!
I have of course applied for every grant possible to get us to Kansas City, but I’m also having a show at Cha Island this Saturday (January 17th) to try and raise some additional funds. Come on down! Info below:
Secondly… I’m excited to announce that Jered, Asher and I are growing our sweet little family! I am pregnant with my second wee babe due July 1st (Canada Day!). So I’ll be sporting a cute little baby bump for all said showcases next month in Kansas City.
